The major active compounds of Centella asiatica are the polyphenols and triterpenes. In addition to terpenoids, Centella asiatica also has high phenolic and flavonoid contents, such as quercetin, kaempherol, catechin, rutin, apigenin, naringin and volatile oils (such as caryophyllene, farnesol and elemene).
